Following up on the success of their first release since 2019, Doctor Plague, The Shape is excited to announce their next song – The Parasomniac, releasing on Friday, May 14th, 2021. The Parasomniac is the second release leading up to the band’s full-length project, The Age of Doom and Fear, releasing later this year. The band has been applying pressure this year, making up for their approximately one-year-long hiatus with Doctor Plague, a song they’ve been working on for approximately 12 years, as well as a visualizer for the track, and a new line of merchandise with over 10 unique designs.

Earlier this year, The Shape also announced a new lineup to their band, welcoming new members Alicia Marinelli, Jason Northrop, and Jesse Neafsay to the roster. The Parasomniac was written by the band’s two co-founders, Brian Almeida and Chris Carlino, and fuses the progressive metal, extreme metal, dark metal, and melodic death metal influences the band has been experimenting with since their inception. Another phenomenal release from the Connecticut band is on the way, and we couldn’t be more excited.
