Who is Lil Tecca?
Lil Tecca, whose real name is Tyler-Justin Anthony Sharpe, is from Queens, and originally found great success as a young rapper on SoundCloud and YouTube in 2017. He was born on August 26 2002 and is the son of Jamaican immigrants. He began rapping with friends while playing Xbox and eventually grew his work. In early 2019, he came out with his hit single, Ransom, that made its way up to #4 on the Billboard Hot 100. It received over 900 million plays on Spotify and over 300 million views on YouTube.
Lil Tecca followed Ransom up in late 2019 with his mixtape, We Love You Tecca. Unfortunately, Lil Tecca was one of many artists hitting his stride in early 2020 that was derailed by the COVID 19 Pandemic. His music career has taken a turn because of the derailment of changing travel restrictions and pandemic regulations. However, Lil Tecca continues to work hard and make music.
Luckily, Lil Tecca bounced back from the pandemic pause with his next album, We Love You Tecca 2. It proved he could deliver more of the same power that he had right out of the gate. His music since the pandemic has featured musicians including BabySantana, Gunna, Chief Keef, and Trippie Redd.
While we wait to hear more from the great Lil Tecca, take a listen to his newest single, Falling. Lil Tecca has given us great hits so far. He continues to be unstoppable in the music industry. Still a young star, we can hope for much more from Lil Tecca in the future. Look out for new music on Spotify.
