Paul Rajeckas Creates a Nostalgia Trip

Paul Rajeckas, a Connecticut-based artist with a long and celebrated career in playwriting, choreography, and education, embarked on a new artistic journey in 2024, venturing into the realm of ambient music. His newest single, “When We Were Very Young,” was released earlier this month and has already garnered attention for its evocative soundscapes.

The single, “When We Were Very Young,” showcases Rajeckas’ ability to create music that resonates with listeners on an emotional level. Through the use of ambient pads and subtle melodies, the track evokes a sense of nostalgia, transporting listeners back to the innocence and simplicity of their childhood. The music is both calming and introspective, inviting listeners to reflect on their own experiences and memories.

Rajeckas’ decision to explore ambient music comes as a surprise to some; however, he sees a connection between his previous work and his new musical endeavors. In his view, all art forms are ultimately about expressing emotions and connecting with audiences. Ambient music, with its focus on atmosphere and mood, provides a unique avenue for achieving these goals.

“I put together my own band in High School to play my songs. Later In college, I transitioned to theater … after turning down medical school, which was crazy to some … where all my theatrical creations called out for a soundtrack. And here we are 40 years later where I want the music to speak for itself,” Rajeckas reflected on his musical journey in this interview.

Whatever Paul Rajeckas has coming next, we can’t wait to hear it. “When We Were Very Young” is currently available for streaming on popular platforms like Spotify and YouTube. Fans of Rajeckas’ previous work, as well as those who simply appreciate ambient music, are encouraged to experience the artist’s latest creative expression.
