There are a number of digital audio workstations to pick from – Reaper, Pro Tools, FL Studio, Ableton, Logic, and so on. While Pro Tools is the industry standard, Logic and Ableton have been gaining traction as popular DAWs to work with. Ableton grew to popularity in the producing and EDM community for its incredible user experience, mixing and mastering tools, and compatibility with hardware, such as Ableton Push.
At DCR, we are fond users of Ableton Live 10, and use it for most of our engineering, production, and recording projects. Ableton is not only one of the most powerful digital audio workstations, but one of the easiest to get into. This is why we recommend Ableton to both experienced and beginning audio engineers, producers, and artists. This latter group are usually younger, but don’t have to be, and are often students. Ableton offers up to 40% off its tools for students and educators.
