New Music: The Shape – The Age of Doom and Fear

The Shape has been a steady force in the New England and Connecticut metal scenes for over a decade, and they’re still yet to release a bad record. Coinciding with Halloween, the holiday, and film franchise the band gets their name from, The Shape released their fifth official project, The Age of Doom and Fear. The album was released alongside a music video to the song Sifting Through Ash.

 Receiving praise from publications such as Alternative Control CT, the album draws comparisons to Iron Maiden and King Diamond. The album highlights the band’s evolution over time, with two tracks—Re(Awakening) and Drag Me to Hell, being odes to songs from The Shape’s first album The Last Great Awakening, repurposing elements of their debut record.
