Just In Stereo Releases Debut Single “Medicine”
Long Island pop-punk band Just In Stereo have officially arrived with their debut single, “Medicine.” Released September 13, 2026, the track introduces the band with driving guitars, an infectious melody, and emotionally direct songwriting centered on healing, resilience, and the transformative power of love.
Led by singer, guitarist, and songwriter Justin Karp, Just In Stereo draws heavily from the melodic urgency and emotional honesty of early-2000s pop-punk while bringing those influences into a contemporary setting. Fans of bands like blink-182, Green Day, Good Charlotte, Cartel, All Time Low, and Mayday Parade will find familiar elements in the group’s guitar-driven sound, memorable hooks, and willingness to tackle deeply personal subject matter.
“Medicine” explores the idea that the right relationship can help someone recover from the damage left behind by previous experiences. Rather than focusing solely on heartbreak, the song looks at what happens afterward: the process of healing, growing, and allowing another person to help you become stronger. The result is an uplifting pop-punk track built around vulnerability without losing the energy and immediacy that define the genre.
That theme is particularly fitting for Karp, whose life outside of music gives the song’s title an added layer of meaning. In addition to fronting Just In Stereo, Karp works as a foot and ankle surgeon in New York, balancing an intensive medical career with songwriting, recording, and performing. Music has remained a constant throughout his life, beginning with a childhood surrounded by musicians and developing after he received his first electric guitar at 13 and began learning songs by ear.
In an earlier interview with DCR, Karp explained that the band’s new music was inspired by “the pain in previous relationships, how resilience has helped to overcome that feeling of pain, and also about how love can make you better.” “Medicine” brings those ideas together in one of the clearest statements of what Just In Stereo represents: personal experiences transformed into melodic, energetic rock songs that listeners can connect with themselves.
The release also represents the beginning of a new chapter for Karp’s music. While he previously released material under his own name, including “Last Chance,” Just In Stereo expands the project into a full-band identity alongside Chris Chaput on guitar and vocals, Phil Masi on bass and vocals, and Victor Miranda on drums. Together, the group brings additional weight and momentum to Karp’s songwriting while maintaining the personal perspective at its center.
With its memorable chorus, passionate vocal delivery, and full-band energy, “Medicine” establishes the foundation for what listeners can expect from Just In Stereo moving forward. It is a song rooted in the sounds that inspired Karp to start playing music, but its focus on resilience, growth, and human connection gives the band a perspective that is distinctly their own.
Just In Stereo are already looking beyond their debut, with additional music, continued songwriting, and live performances among the band’s plans. For a group beginning its story with a song about emerging stronger from difficult experiences, “Medicine” feels like an appropriate first step.
