Who is NBA YoungBoy?
NBA YoungBoy, also known as YoungBoy Never Broke Again, is a rapper from Baton Rouge, Louisiana whose real name is Kentrell DeSean Gautdin. NBA YoungBoy has garnered praise for his melodic vocals and “signature aggressive punch and high energy”. He works at a “rapid fire pace”. Since 2015, YoungBoy has released 26 studio albums, EPs, and mixtapes, proving how consistent he is. After some legal issues with the NBA (National Basketball Association), Kentrell had to officially change his name to YoungBoy Never Broke Again. While his mother was also once upon a time a rapper which encouraged him to pursue his career in the rap industry. NBA knew that he wanted to become a professional rapper by the age of 11. YoungBoy continued making music, and after a few days the single Untouchable came out, he gradually became more successful. He received an attention boost by the music video for the song 41 which included contributions from such musicians as Meek Mill, 21 Savage, Young Thug, and Yo Gotti. Additionally, another mixtape A.I. YoungBoy reached No.4 on the Billboard 200 chart. His previous single Untouchable found itself at No. 95 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart, while No Smoke peaked at No. 61.
NBA YoungBoy is not a new name in the music world. From making smash hits to spending time behind bars, he has done it all. Moreover, the rapper is known for his southern hip hop and gangsta rap. He gained popularity right from the release of his first mixtape back in 2015. Since then, he has been producing more music and generating a huge fan following. YoungBoy Never Broke Again has officially passed 10 billion views on YouTube, where he has been the platform’s #1-ranked artist every week in 2022.
As for YoungBoy’s personal life, he has been in trouble with the law several times and received a 10-year suspended sentence and three years of active probation for yet another drive-by shooting. The Baton Rouge, LA native is currently facing a charge of possession of a firearm and ammunition by a convicted felon.
