Who is Henry Joseph?
Raised in Bullhead City, AZ, Joe Lengson began playing piano at the young age of seven and grew to love to participate in musical projects more and more. His music has ranged from early American folk to death metal. Before he ventured fully into music, Lengson dreamed of being a doctor. Since devoting himself to creating music, he has found a different way to reach people and help them feel their best. Lengson’s first solo record was released in 2004 under the name Red Lights & Semis. It was an instrumental electronic project that garnered attention from musical publishing agencies and one song of which, Magnum, was used in a Biological Education Series on the Discovery Channel in 2006. He released two more Red Lights and Semis albums in 2005 and 2007 before starting as the drummer in a hardcore band, XBraveheartX. 1981 Records signed Lengson in 2008, after the band’s release of Speak To These Bones.
Lengson joined Mychildren Mybride as a bassist in 2007 when they were signed to the label Tooth & Nail Records/Solid State Records. The band released their debut album, Unbreakable, in 2008 and Lost Boy in 2010, which landed on the Billboard 200 charts. Later, their 2012 self-titled album, Mychildren Mybride, made it to the charts as well. Lengson eventually moved back to Los Angeles to focus on his solo projects. He moved into literary work and published books of poetry and prose with the publisher Autumn + Colour.
Now Joe Lengson is here with a new musical project! Henry Joseph is making its official debut this year. In 2018, Lengson went back to his roots with music and composing and recording piano focused music specifically made for film, T.V. and commercials. In 2019, Lengson began writing music for a new project with the original concept of capturing the sound of 1980’s and 1990’s country Lengson grew up on. The new country music project, Henry Joseph, was written during the winter of 2019, the demo was recorded January and February 2020 at Mondrian Studios in North Hollywood, CA. and the EP was recorded in Nashville, TN. by Skyler Taylor.
