An Interview with Sean Mazur – 50/50, Guardian Angel, and More…
We had the chance to sit down with Ohio born, Idaho transplant, Sean Mazur, to discuss his emotional and soulful music, inspirations, and upcoming releases. Check out our exclusive interview below.
Hey! Introduce yourself. Where are you from?
I was born in Ohio. I spent my early life in Ohio and Indiana and the rest of my teenage years in Idaho.
When did you start making music?
I started making music in 2017, but my first release was in March of 2019.
Who inspired you to start making music?
That’s a tough question because my music inspiration comes from my upbringing. I had a rough childhood and music helped me through the hard times. I make music now to do the same for others.
How would you describe your music style?
My music is emotional, soulful, and just real. I’m most comfortable with lower notes but am not afraid to thrown in a high note usually at the climax of a song.
Who are you listening to now?
Currently I’m listening to Calum Scott he’s a big inspiration for me. I’ve also been listening to the Rocketman soundtrack mostly Taron Egerton’s remakes of Elton Johns songs. He definitely does him justice.
What’s your best project or single so far?
My upcoming single! It’s my best writing and the most personal song I’ve written. Apart from that I’d say my song CRZY 4 U which was released recently as part of my two-track project 50/50.
Any upcoming releases from you to look out for?
Of course! My new single Guardian Angel comes out July 5th. It will be my first song with a lyric and music video. Also, my first collaboration later this summer/ fall time frame.
Have any shout outs?
Shout out to Lifoti Magazine, Poze Radio, and Indie Band Guru for giving me some great opportunities so early in my music career.
