An Interview with Mello Malone

We caught up with Mello Malone to discuss his love of entertaining, story-telling and upcoming releases! 

Hey! Introduce yourself. Where are you from?

Hey What’s up guys! My name is Romello Antonio Malone – as an artist I go by the name of Mello Malone. I think it’s important for people to know the difference between the two. I was born in the Virgin Islands but was raised in Oklahoma. I moved to Atlanta in 2015 to be closer to not only entertainment, the music industry and opportunities, but also my dreams.

When did you start making music?

I’ve been entertaining peers since the age of 7. I often found myself in talent shows and showcases. In high school I was voted best dancer. I’ve been creating music since the age of 16. I’ve always been at a silent pace when chasing after my goals. I sing, rap, play drums, dance and get read a script and go straight into character.

Who inspired you to start making music?

My biggest inspirations are Drake, Chris Brown and John Legend.

How would you describe your music style?

I love creating R&B music but being so versatile, I’m able to bring my stories to life rapping.

What’s your best project or single so far?

My biggest project I have out right now is my single “Stranger Things”. 

Any upcoming releases from you to look out for?

I have a new single followed by an EP coming out in February.
