Chip Pirrs Releases Fourth Album
It’s undeniable that when it comes to pop music, Chip Pirrs has it down. Since he made his debut in the music industry, he has continued to impress with each release he puts out. His debut was in 2019 with his album Chip Can’t Do Sh*t, followed up by Wide Awake With Anxiety in 2020 and A.S.M.R. in 2022. His newest LP, Places I’ve Left Myself, released in August 2025.
Places I’ve Left Myself is an album about the cities that shaped me and the versions of myself I left behind in each of them. It blends alternative electronic rock with elements of R&B, hip hop, and experimental soundscapes — landing somewhere between Animal Collective’s unpredictability and the emotional weight of Radiohead or Nine Inch Nails. It’s a record about love, conflict, doubt, and hope — the inner landscapes we all cross while becoming who we are.
“Places I’ve Left Myself is a journey through the cities that have shaped me and the versions of myself I’ve left behind in each of them. These songs grew out of love, conflict, and the restless search for meaning that comes with moving through different worlds,” Chip reflected.
Rooted in the traditions of Radiohead, Nine Inch Nails, and the sonic textures of Underworld, Beirut, Prince, The-Dream, and Frank Ocean, Chip’s sound is a rich tapestry of influences. He crafts his songs through meticulous loop‑based production: starting with drum tones and synth or piano motifs, layering textured arrangements, and then adding vocals to heighten the emotional resonance.
