Who is Dr. Asia?

Gospel music traces back hundreds of years and has had many successful artists ranging from Mahalia Jackson, Yolanda Adams, Shirley Caesar, and more. As Gospel has spread all over the world, there have been even more artists in the past few years that have been bringing a new sound to the genre. Dr. Asia is one of those artists. Dr. Asia released her debut album, The Perfect Guide, earlier this year on all digital streaming platforms. “I sing Gospel to pass messages to children of God and people that want to know more about Christ,” Dr. Asia said of her music in our recent interview. 

Dr. Asia, whose real name is Dr. Annastasia Onyinyechukwuka Oraegbunem, was born to the late Emmanuel Obumnaeme Igbodokwu and late Ann Okuanata Igbodokwu in Nawfia Njikoka, Anambra State, Nigeria. Dr. Asia graduated from secondary school in 2004 and enrolled at the University of Nigerian Nsukka’s College of Education for a Bachelor of Science in Education degree (B.Sc.Ed/Biology) in 2006. Dr. Asia holds a master’s degree in Educational Leadership and Policy from the University of Toronto, as well as a doctorate in Higher Education Leadership and Administration from Liberty University.
