An Interview with D.N.G.

Big room house and progressive house are popular in clubs and festivals, but Nenad Galic, a.k.a. D.N.G. is bringing this sound to speakers everywhere. We interviewed the Serbian DJ and producer to discuss his influences, upcoming releases, and more. 

Hey! Introduce yourself. Where are you from?

My name is Nenad Galic a.k.a. D.N.G. I am 26 years old, and I am from Belgrade, Serbia.

When did you start making music?

I started as a DJ when I was 17, and producing when I was 21. I play and produce big room house, but progressive house mostly. But I also love to play future house, bounce house, and trap, but my primary genre is big room house.

Who inspired you to start making music?

My main inspiration is Blasterjaxx. There is also Bassjackers, Hardwell, Jay Hardway, and old school Martin Garrix when he was producing big room—that’s how he started.

How would you describe your music style?

Big room house or progressive house is a genre mostly for festivals and big clubs where you have a huge crowd. I mean this genre is not for a bar or I don’t know, a wedding, for example, people love calling it “EDM”.

Who are you listening to now?

I am listening to a lot of artists of course because I am also a DJ. Right now I am listening Blasterjaxx, Bassjackers, Olly James, Kevu, Tiesto, Jay Hardway, Afrojack, DJ Snake, David Guetta, and many more with a similar music taste.

What’s your best project or single so far?

My favorite, best project I ever made is a remix for California Dreamin’.

Any upcoming releases from you to look out for?

I just released a remix for Madonna’s song Prayer a week ago and I am planning to release one track every month!
