Music Made for Meditation
Searching for the right music to meditate or do yoga to? Paul Rajeckas is making exactly that. Coming from Kent, Connecticut, playwright, choreographer, educator, and composer Paul Rajeckas has been releasing his original ambient music digitally since the start of 2024. His first single, Afternoon in my Hammock, was a hit and that inspired him to keep creating. He followed this single up with consistent weekly releases,
His most recent music is something that you will love if you meditate or do yoga. He has just released three 60-minute ambient singles on all streaming platforms—Ode to Om, Meditation #1, and Meditation #2. He also released a 45-minute version of his single Arise, played on chimes. If you already have a yoga playlist, he has songs that are commercial length that you should consider listening to as well.
It wasn’t until the global upheaval caused by the COVID-19 pandemic struck that Paul’s creative process took an unexpected turn. As theaters went dark and live performances were canceled, Paul found himself isolated from his usual collaborative environment. This isolation, however, became an opportunity for him to delve deeper into his musicality and explore new avenues of expression.
Instead of creating music specifically for theater, Paul began working on standalone musical pieces. He found solace and inspiration in the quiet solitude of his home studio, where he experimented with different instruments, synthesizers, and recording techniques. The result was a collection of deeply personal and introspective compositions that reflected his own experiences and emotions.
Paul’s newfound focus on creating independent music allowed him to connect with his audience in a more direct and intimate way. He shared his creations with close friends and family, who were moved by the raw and genuine emotions expressed in his music. The positive feedback he received validated his decision to explore this path.
As the world slowly began to reopen, Paul’s music took on a life of its own. His compositions found their way to a wider audience through online platforms and streaming services. Music enthusiasts were drawn to the depth and authenticity of his work, and Paul discovered a new community of listeners who appreciated his unique style and artistic vision.
Paul’s journey from theater composer to independent musician is a testament to his adaptability and resilience in the face of adversity. His music, born out of solitude and introspection, has resonated with listeners worldwide, proving that true artistry can transcend any boundaries or limitations.
