Who or what inspired you to start making music? And, when did you start?
I started making music around 12 as a rapper, then got into some beat production. Eventually transitioned to house and edm in college where I was a resident dj at clubs and played some festivals.
Who are your inspirations? What artists or bands are you listening to?
Black Coffee, Sparrow and Barbossa, Prince Kaybee, Diplo, Lemon and Herb, Chronically Deep, Nitefreak, Frigid Armadillo, Atmos Blaq, Morda, Shimza, and Francis Mercier.
What’s the process behind working on a song like?
I get hit by inspiration for a concept, then over the weeks, months, and beyond I keep adding bits to it in my phone’s voice memos until I reach an overwhelming amount of material then transfer the idea to my DAW. I start making the beat, then figure out what vocals I want to add, then give myself a time limit to complete the project.
Tell me about your upcoming music and what inspired you to create it!
The song is inspired by my faith. God gave me the vision to make an uplifting and inspiring afro house record. I sing in my native language. The direct translation of the words I’m saying is “I am with God”, so I to a deeply personal and meaningful message, disgusted in a house best. It releases on May 17.
