Artist Spotlight: Maxine Linehan
I’m sure you love concerts as much as we do. Hearing your favorite band in person can be an experience you remember for life. It’s raw, unfiltered, and imperfect. But that’s what makes it so great. With today’s technology, anyone can make music and has the tools to make it sound professional, whether that’s compressing your vocals or adding pitch correction and autotune. While as artists, you often want your music to sound “perfect,” but we are humans, and that’s not always possible. The closest that you’re going to get to a perfect performance is from an orchestra, musical theater, or the opera. And that’s what makes Maxine Linehan’s music so great. Her live performances meld dialogue, autobiographical stories, and specific artist song collections into a transformative experience.
Maxine has performed in renowned venues and interpreting works from famed artists such as U2 and Barbra Streisand. Her album “Beautiful Songs” received critical acclaim. Maxine’s international recognition includes shows like “An American Journey” and “What Would Petula Do?” She has been described by The New York Times as a “fiercely talented, theatrical singer…” Seeing her live is unforgettable. If you’re in Southern Vermont or the greater New England area, you’re in luck. She will be performing alongside some of her talented friends on May 19th at the Southern Vermont Arts Center in Manchester, VT. Plus, the event is raising funds for the Red Fox Community School.
In addition to her performances and renditions of popular music, Maxine is a talented original artist. On October 27, 2023, she released her newest original single, It’s My Time. The song is a beautiful, inspirational track about seizing the opportunities in front of you. It’s received a great response from her fans already, and you can expect her to perform this at her upcoming concert on May 19th. If you’re interested in attending the Maxine and Friends show, you can purchase tickets through SVAC. Tune in to Maxine Linehan’s music on Spotify or wherever you stream music digitally.
