In the ever-evolving landscape of modern music, it is rare to find an artist who can effortlessly meld genres while staying true to their roots. Singer Paul Bill Jr. is one such talent who’s been carving a unique space for himself in the Christian and gospel music scene for the past 8 years. Now, with a renewed zest for musical exploration, he’s delving into the realms of pop, soul, and RnB. In this candid interview, Paul opens up about his inspirations, challenges, upcoming projects, and his emotional journey through music. He provides us a glimpse into his creative process and his passion for music that resonates beyond the stage.

Hey, thanks for chatting with us. Tell us a little about yourself.

My name is Paul. I have made Christian and gospel music for 8 years. I am excited to open up the variety of music and content that I am putting out into the pop, soul, and RnB genres. I am so excited to share some of the new music I’m working on!

Who or what inspired you to start making music? And, when did you start?

I’ve been making music and singing most of my life. I started making music originally because it was something my family and friends said I should do. Honestly, once I started joining and forming bands it was something I just started to fall in love with. And now I couldn’t see myself doing anything else!

What is your biggest challenge as an artist?

Vulnerability! Especially with the newer music that I’m releasing. I never know how people will respond to anything I create. The lyrics are the most personal I’ve ever been and just taking off the pressure of being perfect and just being open and honest has been a really big change for me!

What is your favorite project or single you have released?

I actually love all of the music that is about to be released and right now those are my favorites! If I had to select something that’s already out I would say Y.O.U. for Christmas is my favorite song released. I had so much fun with it and was able to incorporate my wife and sons into the content as well!

Who are your inspirations? What artists or bands are you listening to?

I love listening to JVKE, Anees, Alicia Keys, Charlie Puth, and Harry Styles.

What’s the process behind working on a song like?

Mostly, I will always start with music or a melody. And then lyrics follow with a basic idea and start building from there! With some of my newer material, the first and most important goal to me is to serve the song. Meaning just make it as good as it possibly can be whether I’m playing every instrument or not.

Tell me about your upcoming music and what inspired you to create it!

The upcoming music has been so much fun working on! The inspiration just comes from life really and the people in it. These songs are about love, loss, life and how they all blend into who I am. I’m finally writing music that is a lot more personal than anything I’ve ever done before.

What are your plans for 2023?

Prepare and prep for 2024 and come out super hard next year!

Have any shoutouts?

Honestly, I can’t do any of this without the love and support of my wife and children! They’re who push me to follow my dreams.

Paul Bill Jr.’s earnest and soulful conversation is a testament to his deep connection with music and his relentless pursuit of authenticity. As he prepares to usher in a new phase of his career, embracing genres beyond his traditional scope, his unwavering love for his craft and the support from his family stand as strong pillars. It’s clear that Paul’s journey is not just about making music; it’s about sharing his truth, connecting with listeners, and challenging himself to be a better artist. His excitement for 2024 hints at something big, and there is no doubt that the music community will be waiting eagerly for what’s next from this versatile and inspired artist. Tune in to his music on Spotify or wherever you stream music online.
