Hey, thanks for chatting with us. Tell us a little about yourself.
XL Syndicate is a creative music collective based in Canada. We are driven by a shared love for creating meaningful music that resonates with our audience and leaves a lasting impact.
Who or what inspired you to start making music? And, when did you start?
As a group, we draw inspiration from various sources across all genres of music. Each member brings their unique musical influences, experiences, and creative ideas, which blend together to form our distinct sound. We started making music as a collective around 2 years ago, and our journey has been fuelled by our shared vision and dedication to our craft. We each have been involved in music from high school and college days with other projects and groups in the past so it has been a lifelong passion of ours.
What is your biggest challenge as artists?
As artists, our biggest challenge is navigating the ever-evolving music industry and standing out in a crowded digital landscape. We strive to make genuine connections with our audience and establish a strong presence in the industry while staying true to our artistic vision.
What is your favorite project or single you have released?
It’s tough to pick a favorite project or single because each release holds a special place in our hearts. However, one project that stands out is our recent single, “Long Way.” This song carries a powerful message of resilience and hope, and it allows us to experiment with new sounds and push our creative boundaries.
Who are your inspirations? What artists or bands are you listening to?
We find inspiration in a diverse range of artists and bands. Some of our influences include artists like Jay Z, Radiohead, Missy Elliott, and The Weeknd. We listen to various genres, which helps us infuse unique elements into our music.
What’s the process behind working on a song like?
Our process is a collaborative journey. It usually starts with one member bringing an idea, whether it’s a melody, a chord progression, or a concept. We then collectively build upon that foundation, adding layers, experimenting with arrangements, and refining the lyrics until the song comes to life. Our upcoming music is driven by a desire to explore new sonic territories and share stories that resonate with people on a deeper level.
Tell me about your upcoming music and what inspired you to create it!
We’ve been inspired by the experiences and emotions we’ve encountered over the past few years, and our upcoming releases reflect the growth and evolution of our sound. In 2023, we have exciting plans to release an EP that showcases our artistic progression and captures the essence of our journey as musicians.
What are your plans for 2023?
We’ll be focusing on expanding our DJ performances, connecting with our fans, Increasing our radio presence, and collaborating with like-minded artists to create meaningful experiences.

We’d like to give a shoutout to our dedicated fans and supporters who have been with us since the beginning. Your love and encouragement fuel our passion for making music, and we couldn’t do this without you. Also, a big thanks to our team and collaborators who continue to push us to new heights.
