Who is Autumn!/TwinUzis?
Autumn!, a.k.a. TwinUzis (@twinuzis), whose real name is Benjamin C. Phillips Jr., is a Crowley, Louisiana-based rapper and producer. A member of the Slayworld, an internet collective consisting of members from around the country including Autumn!, Summrs, and KanKan, Autumn! rose to fame with a series of singles featuring the group’s signature sound, pluggnb—a mix of RnB inspired vocals over “plugg” beats, a style of production made popular by Mexikodro.
In an interview with Our Generation Music, Autumn! told the host that he started producing at the age of 11, but it wasn’t until he met Slayworld members that he considered rapping.
Autumn! has also grew his buzz online through his beef with Slayworld affiliate Yeat, who blew up this year with his singles Gët Busy and Sorry Bout That. Autumn! dissed Yeat with his song Portrayal, giving listeners insight into where the beef stems from. “Niggas they watching, they envying” Autumn! raps on the hook.
Earlier this year, Autumn! dropped a three-song EP, Not Much Left, with two features from Summrs. This EP got Autumn! some serious traction with the EP being streamed more than 1.5 million times in only a few months. Autumn! also dropped a full-length album this year, The Golden Child, Chapter 1. The 8 track project had no features and showcased Autumn!’s raw talent. We’re excited to see where Autumn! goes next—but we know it’s only up.
