An Interview with Slendo
We had the opportunity to sit down with Slendo, a rising artist from Chattanooga, TN with an impressive sound. Learn more about Slendo in our exclusive interview.
Hey! Introduce yourself. Where are you from?
My name is Slendo, and I’m from a little place called Chattanooga, TN.
When did you start making music?
I started producing about 6 years ago, and have been taking the music side seriously for almost 3 years.
Who inspired you to start making music?
Really I’ve always loved music since I was a child, I remember being a kid freestyling over the jazz music my Pops would listen to in the car. Also used to sing in the choir at church. So I just always really gravitated towards it in a way.
How would you describe your music style?
I would say fun/care-free. I want my music to just put you in a vibe to where whatever else you going through at that point becomes an afterthought, for those 2-3 minutes or however long the song is.
Who are you listening to now?
I really been on that new Lil Uzi here lately, Gunna, Thug. Other than that, I really just find myself listening to a lot of older stuff like Wayne, Jay-Z, Kanye, it kinda varies.
What’s your best project or single so far?
I would say my personal favorite project at this point is “DOLO” which I released on my birthday this past December. Single wise, I gotta go with one of the first ones I ever dropped, “Mindfreak”. I think it’s a side of me I don’t really bring out a lot on tracks, but that mixed with what I was going through at the time made for a must listen if you’re just now getting hip to me.
Any upcoming releases from you to look out for?
I actually just released my latest single “What I Need” this past Friday the 13th, so make sure y’all check that out for me! Other than that, I got more music coming always so just be on the lookout.
Have any shout outs?
Shout out to Downers Club for the opportunity, shout out to all my brothers in Chatt on the same grind day in and day out, and just once again thanks to you guys for checking me out!
