He returned later in the year with his second single, Drop A Line, before releasing The Earthquake and Love You Some near the end of 2022. Down Home Girl tells the tale of a man who falls in love with a pastor’s daughter, and the romance that ensues, leading up to marriage. This song was made with the hopeless romantic in mind. It feels like a mix of Henry Joseph’s singles Goodnight Goodbye and The Earthquake.
