Coming out of the woodwork next week is Spell Jordan’s highly anticipated Ay!Jd produced single, Deer in the Woods, a bubbly yet thought provoking single centered around the concept of death hunting Jordan similar to a deer in the woods. Known for his affiliations with the Timeless Tomorrow camp of James Colt, Nick Wise, and Nick Royal, Ay!Jd has established himself as a recognized producer and artist in the scene after the success of his single My Heart with Spaceman Zack, and his latest release, Supernova. “On a hunt, they all want to kill me like a deer in the woods, rolling up, I just put my feelings in the blunt, I just shed a tear on the wood,” Spell Jordan sings as the beat drops on the snippet he shared earlier this week on social media.
This single showcases the dramatic growth Spell Jordan has undergone both from a lyrical, melodic, and engineering standpoint. While still dramatic direct ties to some of Spell’s earlier work, with both heavy hip hop and heavy emo inspirations, Deer in the Woods features some of the sounds and vibes of Jordan’s recent contemporaries, including Jackie Platinum and others in the pop rap and hyperpop scenes. Deer in the Woods is the first of a number of single releases by Spell Jordan to close out the year.
Deer in the Woods is slated for an October 23rd release on all digital streaming platforms, with an early drop on SoundCloud on the 22nd.
