Hey, thanks for chatting with us. Tell us a little about yourself.
My name is Ryan Jensen a.k.a. JENSN and I’m from Manahawkin NJ. Been making music for over ten years. I like to blend genres and mix melodic vocals with my aggressive rap style.
Who or what inspired you to start making music? And, when did you start?
Slick Rick inspired me to rap the way I do with his amazing storytelling skills which you can hear in my music as well. I started over ten years ago.
What is your biggest challenge as an artist?
Getting the music to the audience. I’ve known for a while now that I have something special and my main focus is to break through and get it in front of the masses in order to be heard.
What is your favorite project or single you have released?
Hazy Nights.
Who are your inspirations? What artists or bands are you listening to?
I listen to a vast collection of music. I was influenced by artists like MF Doom, Slick Rick, Tribe Called Quest, Gravediggaz, Nas, Erykah Badu, and many more.
What’s the process behind working on a song like?
When I work on a song I like to dive completely into it and forget all distractions. I’m as efficient as they in the studio and we will start from scratch with the beat I usually write the song on the spot or I’ll take a few days to perfect it.
Tell me about your upcoming music and what inspired you to create it!
I’m re-releasing my song and video Hazy Nights right now, but I’m in the finishing stages of my album Dolor Cycle which will feature that track as one of the singles.
What are your plans for 2023?
I want to do live shows as much as possible and grow my brand the right way. I wanna drop more music than I ever have this summer and I also want to get my new merch brand Funk Rags out there and see a real profit.
