An Interview with TFT

TFT

TFT are identical twins from Brooklyn, New York. They were introduced to hip hop at a young age by our mother who was a DJ, who got them into acts like Nas, Biggie, Jay Z, and A Tribe Called Quest, among others. These influences shaped their own rapping style. TFT just released a new single, Glue, through Bentley Records. We sat down with them to discuss their influences, who they’re listening to now, and more.


Hey! Introduce yourself. Where are you from? 

What’s up this is TFT, and we’re from Brooklyn, New York.

When did you start making music? 

In 2014.

Who inspired you to start making music? 

2pac, BIG, Jay Z, Nas, Wu Tang Clan, and others. Hip hop is all we listen to.

How would you describe your music style? 

Our music style is gangsta and poetic. It’s for anybody who loves rap, whether that’s trap or lyricism.

Who are you listening to now? 

Freddie Gibbs, Kendrick Lamar, J Cole, Westside Gunn and Griselda, G Herbo, and Meek Mill just to name a few.

What’s your best project or single so far? 

Our mixtape, They’ll Call Us Crazy. 

Any upcoming releases from you to look out for? 

We are coming out with a mixtape called And Now Theirs Us.
