We chatted with Spiros Krokidis a.k.a. Voodoo Child to discuss his music education, debut song, his career as a DJ, and more. Spiros’ work as a professional DJ has taken him to clubs, private parties, and festivals all over the party island of Corfu, Greece.
Hey! Introduce yourself. Where are you from?
Hey, my full name is Spiros Krokidis, I’m from Greece and I am 28 years old! I work professionally as a resident DJ in various bars and clubs on the famous party island of Corfu, Greece playing a wide and mixed profile of nationalities.
My journey with music has enabled me to play a lot of festivals, clubs, and private parties in Corfu including big events with famous Greek DJs and Producers like CJ Jeff, Junior Pappa, and other well-known talents.
What inspires you?
My influences are many, which gives me a wide appreciation of genres that can be tailored to client taste, but my passion is mostly expressed through Deep House, Tech House, Afro House, Melodic House, and Techno itself.
How would you describe your music style?
My music style is a little bit underground but the most important thing is to make people happy and make them dance. My favorite genres to play are House, Disco House, Afro House, Progressive House, Progressive Techno, Melodic Techno, and Techno!
Any upcoming releases from you to look out for?
I just released my first song on Spotify—Savannah. Until now it is the only track that I have released. But I’m planning to release my new album which contains 3 songs in a few months from now!
