An Interview with Don Plomaso

Don-Plomaso

Don Plomaso is a multilingual recording artist with roots all over the world. After his success with the group Los Immorales, Don Plomaso is preparing for an explosive 2021 as a solo artist. We discussed his upcoming music, influences, and more in this interview.

Hey! Introduce yourself. Where are you from?

My name is Eurnick Martina. I was born in Curacao on April 12, 1986. In 2005, I moved to Amsterdam and I’m still living in Amsterdam now. I have also lived in Berlin and Barcelona both for a year.

When did you start making music?

in 2002, I wrote my first rhymes, in 2003 I recorded for the first time. and in 2005 we had a record deal for a Spanish album. It was way ahead of my time I would say, I wasn’t fully developed back then. I was only creative, ambitious, and talented.

Who inspired you to start making music?

A friend of mine named Osric Ortega who passed away almost two years ago introduced me to the art of writing your own lyrics and thought about flows and rap.

How would you describe your music style?

It’s difficult to put a label on my music since the diversity is enormous. I speak fluent English, Spanish and Dutch, plus my native language Papiamentu. I can rap and write songs in all those languages – from dancehall to hip hop, reggaeton, trap and denbow.

Who are you listening to now?

I’m listening to J. Cole, Mike Towerz. Action bronson, Jay-Z, Anuel AA, Bad Bunny, and Rauw Alejandro.

What’s your best project or single so far?

El Caballo by Los Immorales featuring Don Plomaso and Ori. It was released under Talent Beach Music and distributed by Universal Latino in 2005.

Any upcoming releases from you to look out for?

Paranda y Pinga is coming soon.

Have any shoutouts?

Shout out to the day one fans that have stayed loyal to me even when I wasn’t making any music and always asked to get back in the studio and just rap. I did more than that.  Shout out to my girl that supported me from the day we met and I told her that I’m “into making music”.

Stay tuned for the debut single, Paranda y Pinga, from trailblazing rapper and Caribbean musical whiz kid Don Plomaso. We can’t wait to see what Don Plomaso has in store—and we know it’s going to be great.
