In just 10 short months, Atlas1999 has already established himself as a serious artist and is on the path to success. Hey, thanks for chatting with us. Tell us a little about yourself.
My name’s Ian Gibbons, I’m 24 and am a San Antonio artist who graduated from UTSA. I’ve been making music for 10 months and decided it’s time to take it seriously and profit and grow my name.
Who or what inspired you to start making music? And, when did you start?
I started in June 2022 and the inspiration to make music stems from my heavy music background my whole life. I went through a really bad breakup and rekindled my passion to make sad music that’s almost therapeutic.
What is your biggest challenge as an artist?
Growing my following. I hate social media, in fact, I despise it. But I do it because I know I have to.
What is your favorite project or single you have released?
Who are your inspirations? What artists or bands are you listening to?
Juice Wrld, XXXTentacion, and Tenacious D.
What’s the process behind working on a song like?
I get a beat, do 3 freestyle takes, chop it, and mix. This is why I squeeze music out fast.
Tell me about your upcoming music and what inspired you to create it!
My music changes from day to day in sound and ambiance. I have a love for psychedelic effects, but my song each day is a freestyle of the mood I’m in.
What are your plans for 2023?
I plan to be able to make enough money to quit my job and focus on this.
