Getting Music on Blogs and Radio

We were approached by a band who was looking for assistance in spreading the word about their debut single. While the members of this band were seasoned musicians, this project was just getting off the ground. They hired DCR for a one-month engagement to advertise the song and pitch it to industry stakeholders such as blog editors and radio station DJs. We helped them get their first song covered by blogs and played on the radio with our artist management services.

Step 1. Researching

We research and find the contact information of new stakeholders for each client. Pitching to new stakeholders in addition to those in our database ensures our pitches are targeted and that we are constantly engaging more and more people with decision making power in the music industry.

Step 2. Writing

We wrote a press release that would be published on our blog and pitched to other media outlets. Writing and including a press release in pitches helps provide the stakeholder with more information on our client, and gives them content to publish it they aren’t feeling up to writing something original themselves.

Step 3. Pitching

We sent targeted email pitches to stakeholders within our client’s target genre and location. Click tracking allows us to know who is engaging with our client’s pitches so that we can later engage them again. Email pitches are the best way to get everything the stakeholder needs to know about the client in one place. Want to learn more about how we submit music to stakeholders? This band’s first song got on the radio!

We landed 5 pitches for our client. 3 radio stations—The Core Radio, Wayne Benson BBR, and Banks Radio chose to spin their debut single. 2 blogs—Buzz Slayers Blog and Roadie Music, decided to cover the single on their blog. We were able to land these pitches in only a few weeks.

Navigate the music industry with confidence.

Our work with this client landed them 5 pitches in only a month, with 3 radio stations choosing to spin the band’s debut single and 2 blogs opting to cover the song. We are proud of the results we can deliver for clients, and this is a great example of how our artist management services get music in front of those who make decisions at blogs, radio stations, etc. If you’d like to hire DCR to help you accomplish goals such as getting your music to blogs and radio stations, consider our artist management services.
