1. Kay Flock
Kay Flock, whose real name is Kevin Perez, is an American rapper. In 2020, he began his musical career with several singles, including “Not in the Mood” featuring Lil Tjay, which peaked at number 61 on the Billboard Hot 100. Capitol Records signed him the same year he released The D.O.A. Tape. With Dougie B and Cardi B, Kay Flock released “Shake It” in April 2022; it peaked at number 51 on the Billboard Hot 100. 2023 will be Kay Flock’s year if he stays out of trouble!
2. Bizzy Banks
One of the voices in the Brooklyn drill scene worth mentioning is Bizzy Banks, whose infectious sound earned him the respect of acclaimed rappers like Pop Smoke, who viewed him as a rising star. Since its debut in 2019, the music video for his breakthrough single “Don’t Start” has received over 2.7 million views. “Ready Or Not” and “30” have also surpassed 2.6 million views collectively. The rising rapper will soon be unforgettable.
3. C Blu
This 16-year-old Bronx rapper C Blu is making waves in the drill scene. Despite making music for around two years, he has gained a loyal fanbase and a mass of support. Over 3.6 million views have been viewed on Youtube for his breakthrough single, No Ozone. In addition, the follow-up single, No Ozone Pt. 2 garnered over 3 million views as well.
4. Lil Mabu
Lil Mabu is an independent 17-year-old New York drill artist based out of Manhattan, New York. With millions of views and cosigns from artists such as Tory Lanez, Lil Mosey, PNB Rock, Rich The Kid, and more, Lil Mabu is gaining popularity while he is still in high school. This young artist offers inspiration to the underground rap scene.
5. Ice Spice
Born and raised in the birthplace of Hip-Hop, Ice Spice is the newest artist coming out of the Bronx, NY. Her hot new single Munch (Feeling U) was recently cosigned by major artist Drake, making her rise to the top. She is paving the way for more women to get their foot in the door of the New York drill scene.
