Young Klean is a polished rapper based in Connecticut’s growing hip-hop music scene. He has a diverse collection of sounds that vary from hip hop to trap to R&B. Young Klean has overcome many obstacles over the years that has encouraged him to put pen to paper. After losing his best friend at the age of 14, his focus shifted from sports to rap. Hey! Introduce yourself. Where are you from?
Young Klean, from New Haven, Connecticut.
When did you start making music?
I started making music in high school. I used it as an outlet to express my feelings and what I was experiencing.
Who inspired you to start making music?
At the time everyone was rapping and Chicago drill music was hot at the time. Then I realized I was good at it. G Herbo is one of my favorite rappers.
How would you describe your music style?
My musical style is very versatile. I just find the vibe and I make a song in any genre.
Who are you listening to now?
I’m really into Baltimore music right now, listening to Otr Chaz heavy right now.
What’s your best project or single so far?
My best project to date is Kelli’s Son. It hasn’t been released yet, but to date, it’s my best work.
Any upcoming releases from you to look out for?
Yes. Kelli’s Son is dropping soon. My single “Best Believe” is out now on all streaming platforms.
