An Interview with Clintn Lord

Clintn Lord is a rockstar, rapper, and overall talented artist. From New York to Los Angeles, he has done it all and continues to blaze a trail of unique music. We had the pleasure of speaking with Clintn Lord about his inspirations and challenges as a musician, his upcoming projects, and more!

Hey, thanks for chatting with us. Tell us a little about yourself.

I am a multi-faceted artist. I am a rockstar. I live that lifestyle and I embody that spirit everyday. I’m able to do a lot, making music, videos, and art from start to finish. The cinematography, production, writing, graphics, and sounds all come from me with my work. I rarely work with other artists but when I do it’s something special. I’m passionate about the creative process. I believe that if you use your mind you can create anything.

Who or what inspired you to start making music? And, when did you start?

I grew up listening to my older brother Cornelious, AKA Flames, make music and he introduced me to all the legends of hip-hop and now I work with a legend called Dame Dash. My mother played calypso music and danced a lot. I love rock, punk, and heavy metal, bands like the Beatles, My Chemical Romance, Blink 182, and Dechristianize. Despite this I hated music, so I decided to do it. I’ve been making music for what feels like my whole life.

What’s been your biggest challenge as a musician?

My biggest challenge as a musician, and in life in general, is trust. One of my main reasons I complete each step in my creative process myself is because there are times when I can’t find someone I trust to help execute my vision correctly. I have the vision, so I will take each step to bring it to life.

Who are your inspirations? What artists or bands are you listening to?

I’m currently in the process of working on my next album, Arch Angel. I listen to a lot of my own music when I’m in this process, mostly to be sure that I can measure my growth. I’m my own competition.

What was the process behind creating SAINT and its music video?

Some of my close friends refer to me as 001. In reference to James Bond 007, my birthday is June 1st, and pure originality. I’m 001 – the first of my kind. That’s the vibe for the video, Bond. Helicopter, a mission, and a mysterious woman.

Tell me about your upcoming music and what inspired you to create it.

I’m always inspired by life and the things going on around me. I always want to create something new.

What’s your favorite song you’ve released and why?

That changes from time to time. It’s usually whatever song I’m working on or a song I most recently released, Kobe Turned Jordan.

What are your plans for the rest of this year?

Make more art and make more money and have peace.

Any shoutouts or messages for the world?

Shoutout to VBZ. Vogue Boyz, baby.
