His name is likely a reference to the popular movie John Wick, featuring a character known for shooting. In 2020, he started with three singles with over 700,000 plays on Spotify: Slide, Came Up, and Lolli. By the beginning of 2021, his music started to really take off. His hit single Who Want Smoke? featured stars like 21 Savage, Lil Durk, and G Herbo. Not only is it a Billboard Hot 100 song, it also earned platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America. Part of its success is attributed to the song accompanying a popular TikTok dance challenge.
