Mike Yung was a semi finalist on America’s Got Talent and Dreamer, his collaboration with Martin Garrix, has over 40,000,000 streams. In this interview, we chat about getting his start in the industry, his favorite experience in the industry, and more.
Hey, Mike! Introduce yourself.
My name is Mike Yung. I’ve spent the past 38 years in the subway busking and making a living, while supporting my family through the grace of God.
How did you get your start in the industry?
A video of me singing Unchained Melody went viral and changed my life in ways I could only imagine. I was one of the semi finalists on America’s Got Talent. I got to travel all over the world and I was able to release a few songs.
What’s your favorite release?
I’ve been grateful to do a collaboration with Martin Garrix. We have a song out called Dreamer.
What was one of your favorite experiences in the industry?
I did a Europe tour.
What have you been up to since COVID started?
The pandemic hit NYC hard and put a lot of things on hold. But, I will never give up and am still singing and striving for success as much as I can.
