We had the opportunity to sit down with LA native Tyler Mars to discuss his musical inspirations, Soundcloud projects, favorite releases, and more.
Hey! Introduce yourself. Where are you from?
Hi, I go by Tyler Mars. I am 20 years old and I am from East Los Angeles. I moved to Pico Rivera as a full time student at Pasadena City College, as well .
When did you start making music?
I’ve been making music my whole life, but only start releasing it in 2019 actually.
Who inspired you to start making music?
Honestly my friends inspired me to actually release my music, and so we did, and I was very proud of our first release.
How would you describe your music style?
We are our own sound and it’s amazing when you hear my music … we set the tone.
Who are you listening to now?
Lately I have been listening to more Drake because I love how Drake flows … it’s like he’s having a conversation with the beat … it’s amazing.
What’s your best project or single so far?
My favorite project would have to be my Soundcloud projects because at that time we were just finding ourselves and I released a song called Lately Now, and wow what a vibe that was.
Any upcoming releases from you to look out for?
Yes we got a release date for our new song, it releases Friday, it’s called 20 Missed Calls and it’s produced by Bobbybeatz.
