We had the chance to sit down with California based emcee Maniac the Rapper to chat influences, favorite tracks, and Humboldt County!
Hey! Introduce yourself. Where are you from?
I’m Maniac the Rapper, I’m a 27 year old artist born and raised in Humboldt County, California.
When did you start making music?
I started writing lyrics at the age of 9, and recording at the age of 11.
Who inspired you to start making music?
A lot of local cats, and of course Tupac, Biggie, and all of the classics
How would you describe your music style?
My music style can’t be put in a box, I make whatever I feel, be it a banger, an in your feelings track, or anything that falls under the wide umbrella of rap and hip hop music.
Who are you listening to now?
A lot of Machine Gun Kelly, ModSun, City Hippie, 6lack, Lil Peep, and Pouya lately.
What’s your best project or single so far?
It would have to be my new single “W.T.F.” out everywhere now!
Any upcoming releases from you to look out for?
I will be dropping a new song and video this month so stay tuned!
